Children born during pandemic have lower IQs, US study finds (theguardian.com)

"the mean IQ score on standardised tests for children aged between three months and three years of age hovered around 100, but for children born during the pandemic that number tumbled to 78"

This effect is so ridiculously large, almost 2 standard deviations, that sounds like garbage at face value. Also when one does Ctrl-F in the linked paper one does not find 'IQ' nor the word 'intelligence' besides in the title of a reference....

Does anyone has a standardized IQ test for children 3 (or 5) months old ? Does the child must stand up when he takes the test. /s

I guess any IQ test for toddlers must heavily rely on extrapolation.

Extrapolation is very often a nicer word for lying.

During this pandemic? The oldest child born during the US pandemic is well shy of two years old. Isn't this a bit like discussing millenials' APGAR scores?

The drop in APGAR from Gen X to Gen Z is the largest since the fall of the Roman Empire!

In the automotive industry when all your devices fail the test, the test is wrong.

The moment I read 'a study finds', 'experts say'...I laugh and close the page.Pandemic has certainly show up MSM to be nothing more than time wasting click bait.

Maybe it correlates with TikTok rather than the pandemic?

When have you seen a child (less than two years old) using TikTok?
