Aren't there tax implications in this whole scheme? Shouldn't they have to pay taxes retroactively from the day they were founded as a non-profit? Shouldn't the donations be taxed?

Non profits are allowed to own fornprofits. Mozilla Foundation owns Mozilla Corp which brings in tons of money for years.
