The safety regulations for every new technology are written in blood. Every time. AI won’t be any different, we’ll push it as hard & fast as our tolerance for human suffering allows.


The casualty is functional literacy, and at least half of the murder was handing smartphones out to children and then putting our lives on the web (social)

But AI is certainly going to be the death knell


I find that framing difficult to apply to the last few big waves of technology: Mobile, broadband Internet telecommunications, personal computers, integrated circuits, …

It seems glib, rather than insightful.


The tolerance for human suffering is exorbitant these days, that's why this sounds very troubling.

And it's not "we" who'll push, unless you're an AI investor, of course.
